amp buzzes on certain notes

i've got a behringer ultrabass bx600 combo amp and i accidentally dropped it when i was putting it in my car a few weeks ago. it was icy out and i slipped and dropped the amp to catch myself. the amp fell like 6 inches tops.

so ever since, when i play an f# or a g [on both electric basses, and acoustic basses w/pickups] in the lower octaves the note still sounds, but a buzz accompanies it. i also notice that it's slightly less bassy than the other notes around it. i'm sure it's the amp.

what could be the problem? my guess is that something is loose [it's weird that it only happens on those two notes though], but i'm not comfortable opening up the case.

It's OK to open it up and look for something loose. Considering it's only on two notes, I think there's something loose in there, too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure modern amps aren't a shock hazard anymore when they're unplugged. They usually have circuits that should drain the caps. Don't go poking around indiscriminately but it's OK to take the lid of to see if something's loose.

Could also be an air leak, seal all the cab joints with wood glue while you have it open.

I'm with B-String on this one.

Behringers aren't..., well..., the most ruggedly constructed pieces You can find. A drop like that and usually just time works the joints loose and there is either a friction rattle or an air leak. Rattling on spesific notes is usually the result.

BTW, Behringers have a 3 year warranty here, if Your combo is still under a warranty and there's no visible signs that it has been dropped, use the warranty.
