Double Bass Amp for a "Kala Solid body U-Bass"

Hi,
I have a 1988 Rickenbacker 4003S, Gallien Krueger 700 RB-II Bass Head and Gallien Krueger 115 Neo III Cab. I recently got a Kala Solid body U-Bass (USA) and need a different amp to play it through. I right now am using the same amp with a SansAmp pre-amp when I play the U-Bass. I really would like a different (small) bass amp to use with my Kala. Any idea's?

Do you want a combo? Is it for practice or gigging? If gigging what size/type of room? Quiet coffee shop or playing over drunkard brawlers in bars or...? Why do you not like the U-Bass through the SansAmp into the GK rig?

Suggestions: EA Micro & Wizzy 10; Genz Benz NOS/Used Shuttle; Traynor Smallblock; Roland Micro Cube Bass RX.

I play my U-Bass through the same combos I use for my electric and upright basses: a Gallien-Krueger MB150S and a Markbass CMD 121P. My U-Bass has the older passive pickup and I don't use a preamp unless I forego the amp and run directly into the PA.

Mark Bass, Genz. I've tried the U-Bass with so many different preamps and amps. Those work well. But the all-time best combo I've used... GK MB115. Something magic about that one. It can be had for cheap, too.

I wonder if the 1 MegOhm input on the GK is a factor. I find that my Kala U-Bass sounds best through my GK MB150S.

I think it is a factor. GK amps are voiced with a hefty low end and a scoop. Roll off highs and even without a buffer or preamp, the MB115 is pure gold.
I have been using a Tone Hammer 500 lately, and not using a buffer with the upright in most situations. It sports a 1MOhm input.

That's why I had this built

Always 5 meg ohms whether bypassed or engaged, 2 channels of boost, eq shaping, and dirt (or warmth and subtle compression).
