Amp picking up... Radio?

Hey you all... Just a question if anyone else experienced this...

So im sitting in my room playing a little Bass plugged in to my TC-Electronic RH450 and suddently i hear a feint voice... it goes away.. Im thinking am i going crazy? but then it comes again louder this time, over time i realise its the radio being picked up trough my amp... i try to find the solution for this and i fiddle a little with the amp and my bass settings.. nothing... i try put my bass in passive, and suddenly the voices from my amp stops... WHATS happening? :O

Same issue with cell phones set on vibrate. If we (the band) are in between songs or were just quiet and someone's phone would vibrate, we can all hear a clicking through our monitors. But we've asked and no one else hears it, including the sound crew, so we don't sweat it. Now when it happens we all just look at each other as if to say 'go ahead and answer it - we don't care.'

In my experience, radio pickup is often caused by a dodgy connection somewhere close to the input signal path, such as a loose ground at the input jack, damaged cord, etc.

In your case since you mention putting your bass into passive mode, it might be in the wiring of the bass.

In the case of wah pedals it's a capicitor I believe, dunlop discusses it on their site but I am no electronics expert, so it might be something like that. They also mention you can't really fix it for all areas because what might be bad in your area might be perfectly fine in mine.

It's more likely your bass electronics are picking it up and sending it through your amp. Sheilding of your bass preamp cavity and pickups helps get rid of it. Going to passive decreases the output of your bass signal and therefore the radio signal decreases to your amp. However, it can happen anytime the interference is strong enough or your entire rig is acting as the proper antenna for picking up the interference.
