amp prices in Czech Republic

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong section to post this.

I am soon going on a school trip to Praha in Czech Republic and i am planing to buy a new amp there since it most likely will be cheaper there.

So i was wondering if it was someone here from Czech Republic or someone that has been there that can tell me what the prices for amps and instruments are down there.

Ive tried google without luck..

Hi, there are several good music shops in Prague.
Probably the most comprehensive is this one:

Unfortunately they don't show prices in USD or EUR.
You have to use the current exchange rate according to this page: Link Removed

In general, the prices are roughly the same as in other EU countries, so if you need wider selection, you can order from e.g. www.thomann.de and they can send it to you to Prague within about week for fixed freight charge of 15 EUR.

If you want a boutique stuff, the nearest shop from Prague is www.station-music.de.

Yeah i see that the prices are just about the same, i save some money on it but ill see what ill i do.

remember, there is different electricity / 240/ and different plugs.
with dollar pretty low, you may not get better prices, in fact could be more expensive then USA.
Praha is nice, my parents still live there. when i go there, i hardly ever buy anything

Check out the German supplier Thomann for European prices - www.thomann.de

The dollar ahs slipped against the euro (The Czeck Republic is in the EU) so a European amp like an Ashdown would be economical.

But overall I just don't see how you'd get it back to the USA. You're going to find things here much more expensive than last year - say 25%

Just for the record im not from the US im from Norway. Im not planing on buying the biggest combo or cab they have, im basically looking for a new head and that wont be to hard to get with me.

Try a Hartke 3500 - same one I've seen Stuart Hamm using at a summer school I went to a couple of years back. He really likes them and they're not expensive. Any louder than that and you should be going through the PA.

Sorry to de-rail the great thread, but i'd like to know how about prices of spector euro bass guitar in Czech Republic? I live in Poland, pretty close

It is interesting, but although Spector Euro is made in Czech factory, you can't see them in Czech music stores

Well we're all in the Euro-zone Boski - so I guess there won't be a huge difference on prices around Europe nowadays.

Olasol - Course Norway isn't in teh EU - so it's anyones guess what will be happening to the Euro against the Krone - I'd guess you'll see prices dropping against Norway's currency - but you'd be more UTD on that than us.

Yeah the Norwegian krone is not very strong atm i checked the amp prices in Czech and compared them to the once in Norway and it wasent much of a difference, the little i saved on it id probably would have to pay in customs.

If you don't mind mail-ordering, try looking in the UK, eg. here http://www.dv247.com/ - I don't know how prices compare to Norway (esp. after figuring in customs & shipping), but compared to other EU countries (and even to www.thomann.de, which usually has the loest prices in the Euro-zone), they currently have pretty good deals in the UK...

Thanks Jeto for the liguistic challenge - fortunately as we have a lot of Polish people now working here in the UK - and I have some Polish students and friends; so it's a challege we can meet.
