Amp Rig Ohms Puzzle...

I love the RB heads as well, I think the cab will just barely be wide enough to support them. I had a GK Fusion 550 and just didn't care for it compared to my GK MB200, I'm just worried about having the same experience with an RB head (I'd be looking at the 700RB). My knee jerk reaction is to look for or grab an MB500, but a used 700RB might be the way to go. Have you played with both? I'd be interested to hear the differences.



Yeah it's looking that way, man. I could hopefully get about $200 for the Avatar cab, $300 for the SR500 I'm trying to sell, $225 for my Ibanez guitar, $120 for my Jaguar, and $200 for my Japanese SR800. $1045 should put me in decent territory to get this rig up and running.



I've been looking at doing something like that (MB200 into a power amp that does 2 ohms). The Crown power amp I have has issues with input sensitivity.





Just an idea, wonder if another power amp would be a better idea? Could keep my 2x10, buy another 4 ohm 2x10, and hopefully keep my GK tone by using the MB200 as my preamp. Know of any with super sensitive input sensitivity? lol

I've had both as backline, can't speak to long term love or hate but I preferred the RB. The Mb was awesome and comparable in tone but I missed a little of the warmth. As far as the vertical stack factor it'll look a smidge goofy but itd be fine balance wise.
Another affordable alternative as far as 210's is the fender rumble 210's. They're loaded with Chinese made Eminence speakers and they kick ass. The speakers are loaded at an offset so you get better dispersion and are about 300 new, probably 250 used. If the fender look bugs you some debadging or regrilling would cure it. Just my 2 cents but that's suit your needs just fine. I've been gigging rumble gear for about 3 years now and can't say enough about how solid it is. Hell the rumble heads would suit you just fine as well. Check em out let me know what you think

It was to the point where I thought something was wrong with my tube head, but it was the cabs. This would be the only reason I am personally veering away from them.

The 210's have no lack in miss I'll vouch for that. If you live near a GC give it a shot man. At this point we're talking form factor though, and if you're happy with your avatar then you'll definitely be happy with another one.
