Welcome to Talkbass! I know you from the Dream Theater forum (I go by the same name, but I recognized your band's name); you'll find a ton of informative people on this website.
A good spot to start on any amp (with a few exceptions - things that feature the Fender Tone Stack) is with all of the EQ controls at "5" or "noon." This includes bass, mid, treble ... usually presence, if you have it, and contour (also called mid shift, aural enhancer, the list goes on - it's usually denoted by a sign that looks like a smily face) are considered "voicing filters." Find the "flat" position for these, or where they are effectively turned off. For contour, that'd be all the way to the left, or about 7 o'clock if you go by that.
This is a good place to start with any amp. Small EQ moves usually work well, so try that first until you're familiar with what each control does.
