Amp Settings

A question about amp settings.
What does the mid knob and presence knob do?
And how should I set up my amplifier and how do you guys set up your amps?


In this other forum I read this guy was talking about Mhz and Kwz and sonic space and midrange and stuff like that and I didn't quite understand what he was saying.

For me personally I set my EQ like this:

high: 4-5

mid: 4-6

bass: 5-7

I don't know if you'll like that setting but it works for what I play.

set your amp flat and work from there. play with the controls to get an idea of how they sound. mids may not sound right to the unseasoned ear, but help you cut through in a band setting. presence, contour, shape, color, etc... usually pull mids and may boost highs and lows for a bedroom tone. i start flat, cut lows to reduce mud at high volumes, and engage the bright function (5khz) for some clarity. check FAQs in the sticky and find the EQ link, theres a good description of your frequencies.
