Ok guys and girls, im new to this...just signed up. Ive read alot on here that has helped me in the past so I figured id sign up. I have a question. I have a fender rumble 350 bass amp. The last two shows I played it has sounded like its been bottoming out. Its kinda like a popping/cracking sound. It usually doesnt happen until the second set, meaning the amp has to be on for a period of time before I notice it. It happend more often playing low notes like open d and open c. At the last show I actually turned my volume all the way down to 1 and they just turned me up in the PA. I have kind of an odd setup, I use a fender mustang pawn shop short scale bass into my nady wireless into a signal splitter into my rumble 350 and rumble 150. I use two amps. The 150 doesnt pop and crack even with the volume up. The 350 does. Ive checked the speakers and there is no tears holes or cracks. Sorry this is so long but any suggestions are apriciated.

It can very likely be an oxidised effects return connection. Try putting a standard 1/4" cable from effects send to effects return and play again.
If that cures the amp, you need to give the connector a good cleanup with deoxit or similar.

Can you reproduce the problem with your bass alone directly into the 350? Bottoming out as in voice coil smacking the magnet? Do you have the bass boosted?

It has done it when im just using the 350 but it seems to be worse when im running both amps. It sounds like its bottoming out but I cant imagine it would be bottoming out with the volume only set at 1. No I dont run any effects and the bass knob is set at 12oclock.
Can you reproduce the problem without the wireless setup? Trying to think about your signal chain...

Is the 350 under warranty? Any bad solder connection could act up once the circuit boards get warmed up and flex a little. Or a component might degrade. Try cleaning both the connectors and the controls first.
It should be under warranty. Its only about 6 months old. I havent called fender yet. We play almost every weekend so its on the road alot and is constantly being moved around. Ill try cleaning the connectors and ill also try the fx loop thing
Also ive noticed cracking sounds when I turn the volume knob up and down. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not
Im using a crappy female xlr to dual male xlr cable to split the signal. Ive been thinking about getting a good a/b/y pedal to split the signal....esp if that could be the problem
Hmmm... If the problem goes away along with the wireless, then...
Try Googling your model of wireless rig, see if any problems pop up in the search returns. Concerning the cable, switch leads between the 350 and 150 and see if the problem follows.
