Amp without Cab

I practice through my Ampeg B2RE head, and run preamp output to a mixer. No connection to a cabinet.

Would this do any harm to the head?

Just want to make sure I am not hosing anything up....

If the head is solid state (which I think it is) it should be no-load protected. Check the owners manual to be sure. You can probably download a .pdf manual if you don't have one.

Yup, it's a solid-state power section. There's nothing wrong with running that amp without a speaker load on it. Using that preamp out exactly how it's designed to be used. \m/ \m/
