Can't speak to the amp head but I own the hydrive 4-10. It sounds as good as it looks... Great value..

I turned off the tweeter and am putting through old school thump.

Don't make the same mistake I did though..Order a cover for it. I'm getting one made.

The head is a class a tube.

Just so you are aware...........it is a single preamp tube in the preamp circuit.

It is a solid state amp not tubes.

Still a good amp

Hi Eric....my name's Will and I'm a soundaholic.

Whether or not that's enough for you depends on what you need to do. You don't give much info there. As to the other poster, it's not a classA tube amp at all. It has a single tube in the preamp coupled to a solidstate poweramp (hybrid). Full, strong, warm are describing words for the general sound, also simple and easy to operate provided you know how to operate a fender tonestack. (you'd better).

Many good things have been said about the LH500 and LH1000. I think the biggest positive about Hartke is their customer service! Larry Hartke is on TB regularly and has helped several members with issues they were having.

I would say go for it! I don't think you can find a better bang for the buck amp in that price range! The only other option I would suggest would be the Carvin BX500, but it will cost you about $75 more.
If you are not buying it locally check Amazon.com. They have the best price on it right now.
