He's a good man. Buttloads of experience as a bassist, has an EE degreee, teaches and shares freely. I'd say let it go out of respect. Sorry for your other experiences at TB. It can be a rough playground. That's not good. I have the utmost respect for Paul, and I think you would too if you knew him as I do.

good, i need an electrical engineer on my staff..
but not to pick on me about my lack of knowledge...

Is there a good thread dedicated to peavey 215d cabs, and black widows (the old 1504's).. am refurbishing one as we speak and need info on port mods, dampening and wiring.. pp

The thing is @PawleeP that you keep rehashing threads and adding information, and that's OK, in reply to folk who are no longer active on this site. Thus your posts are pointless. It's a pain in the rear end to get half way though a thread only to find that the thread is years and years old. If you'd take the time to make sure that the OP is still an active member you would have more success. As it is it's irritating and not just to me!

Forum searches just aren't the best. That's usually not the fault of the forum owners, admins etc., they just kinda suck and come that way with the software package. If you can't find stuff with forum search or for more than one or two keywords, try google with this in your search:

site:talkbass.com

maybe something like: "peavey 215d" AND "black widow" site:talkbass.com

or maybe: peavey AND 215d AND black AND widow

AND and OR must be case sensitive and anything contained in "double quotes" is an exact phrase. So if you get no returns, try less quotes. Or leave out quotes and ANDs.

and also was wondering, if you are implying that because a thread is old, no one will have answers for my questions?

the 212 in avatar is a super trick prototype guitar cab (mostly) and i learned about the vertical array advantages after i built it, but yes i agree, my next ones will surely be vertically aligned.. thanx paul

You'd be much better off starting a thread and saying what your questions are. I have no clue as to what you are trying to achieve. Some of us see the date of the OP, Original Post this time, and just go to the next thread. It also keeps your information in one place instead of fragmenting it all over the site.

I gather that you have a 2x15 Peavey cab and you have a problem with one driver? Let's go from there. :D

anyone know about this?
i possibly need a new basket for a 1504..

On some discussions about Black Widow magnets, he said the older magnets kinda work with the new baskets, but not always. The problem has to do with the thickness of the old coil formers versus the new coil formers (kapton versus aluminum?), and the magnet gaps. Supposedly the old magnets have a smaller gap, and the new baskets have a thicker coil former.

may try to clean the gap 1st, one of my 1504's has a slight buzzing!

relevant question here! need to know approx what the qes / qts is on one of these 86-511-08 puppies?
(have 2 now and may have to use them until i can find a 1504 (used)

am kinda puzzled because they supposedly are close to a delta 15pro.
however the deltapro is rated at 400 rms
and the 86-511-08 is supposedly 200w rms
are the qts way different as well?
