I don't understand why everyone compares it to the 8x10, they are two totally different cabs, and I don't think ampeg ever intended for them to be similar.

I love mine. Has that Ampeg vibe but bigger and rounder. Throws like nothing else. The further you get from it, the louder it gets, not to say it doesn't sound good up close too. Most of the tiny stages I play sees me staying pretty close to mine. When another bassist was in the room on a recent gig and asked if I was throught the PA, I had great delight in answering no![]()
The 6x10 that has the classic 8x10 sealed-box vibe (perhaps even more of it) is the Bergantino NV610. The Ampeg 610HLF is ported and tweetered, and has a more modern vibe.
I'm not saying one's better than the other... it's simply personal preference.
