Ampeg 8x10s OR ampeg 4x10/1x15

So Ive been lurking here for a while and noticed that with all the bass forums out there the people here seem to give the best advice...
so here's my dilemma:

Im wanting to upgrade my bass cabinet because the one I've got now I want to transfer into a practice cab instead of a gigging cab (it's getting torn up quite a bit)...

We usually play larger venues so Ive been looking at the ampeg 8 10s and i must say i was quite impressed...
however,
a decent price i can get on that is about 750...
now while i was in guitar center i noticed that they had a ampeg classic 410HE and a 15E sitting on top of eachother and noticed it had a bit more range than the 8 10s...

i currently use the SVT- 450 head with some preamps and love the sound, but just need to get something bigger cabinet wise i guess...

i play through a fender jaguar so my tones are pretty good... but i like to have versatility...

i play alternative rock that can get heavy at some times and also can get quite melodic and quiet....
it can also get me playing high up on the neck or low... all depends, so i need someting versatile

so i'll stop blabbering now and just ask you all what should i do:

for 750 bucks i can get an 8 10
or for 500 bucks i can get a 15 and 4 10s and just stack em...

thank you all so much for your help!!!
-Ryan
