Looked at their website. Have you seen the visuals on those Peavey heads? Sorry, no can do. Thanks for the notion, though. I think Peavey stuff is really good, I've used rented stuff on occasions, and they're combos are nice and loud. Plus my old T-40 bass is epic.

I haven't tried the Chinese made stuff and, locally at least, I've noticed a spike in prices. Lame.

No doubt, bro. I just got my 69 head and 73 cab restored and I'm back in love. I'm a fan of most SVT 810's but those old straightbacks are something special.

As sort of a very rough idea, I have interest in Mesa, Aguilar, and Ashdown, I guess. GK makes some cool stuff too. Those Bergantino cabs also seem really nice. I just want some stuff that's huge sounding, bassy, and really rugged. And that doesn't look silly. Aguilar seems pretty epic, though. As does Mesa.

I think the "ultimate rig" for me anyway, would be the Bergantino 2x15 cab with the Aguilar DB750 head. Weight and money are the deterrents for me. Although I might pick up one of those Aguilar heads anyway.

I LOVE my 1970 head and cab. So sweet. Yet, it's nothing I'd tour with, especially with a globetrotting band like NIN that also has a penchant for on-stage destruction, flying bottles, etc.

I'm really feeling Aguilar big time. Currently testing at rehearsal DB750, DB412 and DB810.

DB751 is not ready to hear yet, they only have a couple of samples out in NYC, not a tour-ready example. They're in production right now. I'll hear one in short order.

Yes, I like Hybrids for live work. Ever since two 400+ got destroyed by Rock-It Cargo in '98. Also, I like the sound of tube pre/SS power for artists which have a lot of range in their catalog...Beck and NIN being opposite, yet excellent, examples.

I played that micro vr stack and found it to be very impressive as well.

On the contrary to the SS/Tube Amps, I have opted to leave more stuff in the trailer between gigs since they're happening so regularly no reason to unpack, but have found so much more appreciation for my Classics. I am running an SVT-4 for practice and can't dig it like i used to. I can't wait til' my other classic comes out of the shop.

Ya, I don't get the bad rap they get on here. Can't say I prefer them over the VR or a vintage SVT, but some of the SVT purists in Amps act like they're grossly inferior. But they're still very much SVT's...just a slightly different vibe.
