I run my B15 with one of these:

It's something you might want to consider as well. The WS1 will give your amp a bit of a stronger sound and feel, more presence and punch than a tube rec. and your power transformer will run cooler - well worth the $20 investment. They also have a WZ34 which simulates the sag by dropping the voltage like a 5ar4 tube does, I've got one of each so I have options. Even if you use a tube most of the time they are still handy to have around in case your rectifier tube fails.

Ya, I considered that rec cap at one time, and I know Jess Oliver always liked solid state rectification in his later days. I never bothered, though.

Ya, Ampeg would engrave your nameplate for 50 cents back in the day. Very cool. I work with The Tokens a lot, and their singer said back in the day, they all had Ampegs with the light up logos and they had The Tokens engraved. Got a pic?

That is so awesome! Love the pink LED, too. Is that a B-15R? That was a 90's-2000's amp...didn't know they were engraving plates back then, too.

+1 for Vintage Blue. Mark re-designed the double baffle cabs for the Heritage B-15 and they are awesome.
