Ampeg B Series Serial Numbers

This is my first post, uh, nice to be here, looking to pick up a lot from you guys.

So, about three months ago, I picked up an Ampeg B Series 200 watt cabinet and paired it with a 200 watt Hartke head. Within this three month span, I've played house parties, a couple other gigs, and just messed with it overall. A few weeks back, the speaker blows out and I need to get it replaced. The electronics were funky and it decided to die. Now I'm in a predicament.

I took the cabinet to Rochester for warranty service and well, the sticker had gotten so marred that it was pretty much off/no discernible way of getting the number or code. So, without that, they would have to charge me 100 bucks to get it taken care of. I find it hard to believe that Ampeg would be so inept as to leave the entirety of something as important as a serial number to glue and paper. Anyone know where else I could find it? The plug in jack plate has just that... jack. I've done everything but fully disassemble the cabinet to find the number. If anyone else has been down this road and can help me out of this toilet of suck it'd be much appreciated.

Kind of desperate to rectify this whole 400 + dollars worth of box and carpet sitting around right now to something useful and totally awesome again.

Presented the original receipt with dates, everything, the dealer called Ampeg and told me that Ampeg said without a serial number, they won't reimburse them for the repair, therefore, they won't do it. Same with the dealer who recognizes me and pulled about 1250 off the total sale that sold the cabinet as well. So I've been far from inept.

Nope. I was at the same store no more than 24 hours ago, asked if they documented the serial numbers, they said no. I'm giving Ampeg a call tomorrow to see if they would be able to help me figure it out. I was just hoping maybe someone here may have lost their sticker and knew another spot to find a serial number.

Also, as I've tried to check to see if there's anything I could've done for product registration, it just keeps re-routing me to log back in... To check to see what I've got registered I get a syntac error. Things are screwy to macs, I know, but still, a company like this shouldn't have this much fail.

Is the number now just a paper label?

In the SLM time it was a printed mylar label that you obviously COULD deface, but it was pretty durable.

In the SLM days, there was no other location for the number, and I would be surprised if that were different now.

hard to put it inside, since the label normally does not go on until the unit is known good, with all the testing passed. At that point, one does not want to open it up again, since it would have to be tested again.........
