Ampeg B100R combo

I want to replace my speaker with NEODYMIUM! Why the heck is it so difficult to find a 4ohm 150w+ bass guitar speaker that is NEO?

No way you could put a 3015 LF in a cab like the B100R, bro. It's for sub woofer usage only. Could possibly put in the just plain 3015, but seems like a very small cab for that one to work well. Legand CA 154 is too dark and low for my tastes, and I don't think a cab as small as that would work too well, either. The Deltalite II 2515 might be a contender, though he'd have to go custom for 4 ohms. That's the neo I'd go with for a cab like that out of the choices.

You can get neo.

If you told them you want a 4 ohm neo that sounds like a Delta 15a (which would be my choice for a B100R replacement speaker), they might be able to recommend something or slap something together in that ballpark for you. Can't hurt to ask. Really, though, the weight savings is what? 4-5 lbs? And that stock speaker does sound great.
I replaced my stock speaker with a Delta 15a after a friend tried to use my amp to compete with 2 Marshall 100 watt full stacks (yeah, that's why you don't loan stuff out). The Delta is okay, nice and light, but doesn't sound as good as the original. I need to find an original. @JimmyM, any suggestions?

I have a pair of B100R's that I use as my 'full stack'. Great rig.

But that 15" is a weak woofer by comparison, and in a too small enclosure. Some have tried mounting a 10 or a 12 in it trying to spec a driver into that enclosure using T/S parameters, and I did try one of those mods. Didn't care for it at all. IMO, nothing sounds as good as the stock 15". It is what it is.

They are a bit of a pig to haul though. What are the boxes made of? Particle board or something way too heavy? Just put some big casters on it.

Not if the Delta isn't working for you. That would have been my suggestion otherwise.

I love mine, have had it for ages--I think I got it the first year they came out. Hasn't seen much live use in a while as I'm old and lazy so I just grab my much lighter GK 1x12 combo. But I always give the B100R a longing glance as I walk out the door to the gig - I know it sounds waaay better than the GK:)
