Ampeg B15N Fliptop Patch for Zoom B2 Series Multi-FX

I just want everyone to know, that this patch absolutely rocks…thanks so much to the creator. It’s been my main patch for a couple of months and it works equally well on my active 5-string Jazz and my P-bass.

I’ve gotten compliments from our other bass player who knows what he’s listening to, and from the average Joe who just knows what he likes.

All Zoom B2 users need to give this a spin. The beauty of it, is it’s simplicity…

i agree, pilbara. i don't use my b2 much anymore, but that patch was quite good. sometimes i get really tempted to ditch everything and just start using it...it doesn't do everything as well as my pedals do, but it does a lot of stuff very well...way better than its $100 price tag would make you think.

Thanks so much Pilbara and JimmyM. I have been very satisfied with this patch live with all my Fender axes. I don't like using it with my Warwicks as much.

BTW, there is a sound file up a few posts that I left comparing the patch and my Markbass setup to my '65 B15. It's a tossup, really. I have forgotten which was the patch and which was my vintage B15N.

Dynamics and feel are different, but I find that the compression values in the Zoom patch help smooth the live sound. Soundpeople like when I use the Zoom patch and just DI off the pedal.

The Ampeg modeling patch is the same between the 2 units. The main difference is the limiting, compression and EQ values. There is less specific control of these on the B1 series.

My guess is that you'd get close if you use the Ampeg or Bassman model with gain in the clean range, +1 on bass, +1 on mid and -1 on treble. But you can't get very deep into the guts of the sound with the B1 series. I think that they are fine pedals with their stock patches - but they aren't much help if you desire tweaking.

The stock B3n fliptop model is a better starting place than trying to impose the old B2 settings. I have done comparisons with an actual amps and found the modelling highly accurate.

Sorry I can't believe Zoom did not include the B15 model on the B3n, does not compute.
You can try the settings for the B2 and let us know the results on the B3.
