Ampeg B2-RE Constant White Noise

I just bought this amp (h*ll of a deal)... and a set of Bogner speakers 2x10 and 1x15 cabinet. When I hooked it all up, I got this obnoxious 'white noise' like... when you used to turn on an old TV to a channel without signal.

I took the amp out of the rack and hooked it to another cabinet I have, with the same problem. I tried another amp I have on the Bogner speakers, and the white noise wasn't there....

Has anyone run into this problem, with this particular amp? And if so, how do you fix it!?

Thanks!!!

Noise is a part of high gain electronics whether tube or SS. The amount of noise can be controlled by using better parts and artful circuit design. Tweeters love to send out high frequency hash. I doubt you can reduce the amount of noise significantly.

If the amp has both a gain and a master level you can try turning the gain down and the master up. The Treble control should also impact the noise.

I don't think you're understanding the problem. There is a significantly loud amount of white noise coming from whatever speaker the amp is plugged into. you can NOT control the volume of the white noise, and it's not that natural 'speaker noise.' It sounds like a T.V. channel set on static with the volume turned up very loud.
