Ampeg B2RE

so i'm considering this head...
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

what do you users think of it? I've read alot of reviews, but I want some first-hand TB'er thoughts.

I am not worried about "It doesn't do well in big rooms..." I won't be playing huge venues any time soon. Just small clubs and such.

it'll get the job done for sure. Like you said, you aren't going to be playing any big rooms so this should be plenty. A guy i know pushes an eden 8x10 with one and it works. It sounds decent too. You aren't going to get that ampeg tube sound you might want but it will still work for you if you aren't too picky about it. In summary, not the best head but a good enough head.

I bought one to replace a (now discontinued) Behringer 300w head. I had the Behr on half volume max. The B2R was never loud enough. I don't know if Behringer have a lot of "decibels to watts" or Ampeg doesn't have much, but it did not have enough juice for me.

I exchnaged it with the dealer for an Ampeg SVT-3. The $ I had to pay was well worth it. The SVT-3 has plenty of juice for what I do. More imprtanlty it has "the sound". The B2R sounds okay but the SVTs produce "the sound".
