Ampeg B4 question

I have an old Ampeg B4, no speak on outs for speakers, old. I'm not suer that I'm getting the full power to my Genz Benz 6x10 cab. I simply run a 1/4 from the A speaker out to my cab. Is that all I need to do to fully utilize that particular amp. Also I have a Urei 7110 compressor that I run between my effects in and outs, however when I turn my effects Mix knob up to fully utilize the compressor, my volume goes away. Can I run cord from bass out to compressor in and compressor out to front bass input on front of the amp.

You need to use a speaker cord with a banna clip in order to run the amp in bridge mono. This will plug into the middle two binding posts, and you need to make sure the bridge mono switch is engaged. The B4R manual isn't available on the Ampeg site - but the SVT 4 Pro is - and the process should be hte same.

My amp doesnt have a speakon out, so do I banana bridge the bi-amp output jacks (two middle outputs) and also still run a 1/4 out of the speaker A channel output, and then bridge these two together into a single cable going into my genz 6x10

Speaker cable will be banana jack on the amp's side, 1/4" or speakon to the speaker cab. You may need to custom make it or have it made for you?

So are you saying all I need to bridge the amp and get the max output from my amp is bridge the middle two jacks with the one banana clip and nothing else but the one input into my cabinet

And set the switch on the amp! That's it. Choose a speakon or 1/4" end to the speaker cab (IMO go with the speakon to the cab).

No. Use ONLY the bridged output from the amp.

Also, be sure your amp can safely drive a 4 ohm load in bridged mode.

the amp is rated rms power ouput (2ohms) 500-watts x2
(4ohms) 340-watss x2/1000 watt
(8ohms) 205-watt x2/700 watt mono
the genx cab is rated at 900watts rms with 4ohms nominal impedence

I just want to get the most out of both without breaking something
would it be wise to mono bridge the amp with these ratings then
