Firstly I am not a bass player, predominantly a guitarist but love noodling around on the Bass. I don't play slap or anything fancy, have a Fender Japan precision and Jazz. I like a nice simple thump thump motown type sound but with good definition.
I got a Fender Rumble 100 (early version with the lights at the bottom) and have no issues with it in fact can get a surprisingly good tone out of it. I know 100w not suitable for big gigs but it is powerful enough for my purposes. But always looking for something better particularly with the boredom of covid. I seen an Ampeg BA-115 HP for sale. Unfortunately I live in a remote are and will have to buy sight unseen. I believe it is 100 watt according to the seller but seems some confusion on these models have seen specs stating 100w and 220w.
Would I gain anything buy buying the Ampeg? I mean Ampeg legendary reputation but have seen mixed reviews on this model. Any advice or comparisons appreciated.
