Of the two you mention, i would go with the ampeg because i love my ba108 so much. It is the perfect practice amp for playing along with a stereo.

tried the Fender Rumble 200 instead
I love my Fender Rumble 200 combo, and yes the Eminence 15" woofer is almost perfect.OMG, it is "almost" perfect
That you had better romp on it, as the American made Jaguars have been discontinued in 2017, and $1200 is good price. You could try offering $1,000 and see if they'll accept. What I trully loved was the bass I tryed the bass with, a nice American Fender Jaguar (this one: was 1200 bucks Fender American Standard Jaguar Bass )
I love my Rumble 200 combo. I thought it could not be any better, then I bought a Rumble 115 cab to use with it and was proven wrong. There is nothing better than the two 15" speakers working together! Was on the store, tried the Fender Rumble 200 instead (It was the smallest amp they had, besides some tiny 10w ones)
OMG, it is "almost" perfect, as I only loved the clean sound of it (the overdrive and the other options were not as nice IMO), i went with an Spectrum Analizer. And its 15" speaker still deliver fully (peak) until 64 Hertz as it goes lower the dbs roll down. When playing E (41 hertz fundamental) it had a peak on 82 hertz. I only had to use 2/3 of the master volume to make everything around shake.
I like it with Bass at center position, Mid Bass from 0 to center depending of the song, High Mid and High at 0.

I went to another store were they had the ampeg BA110 (nothing bigger), and I honestly did not like the sound. The lows were not low enough, and honestly it sounded like it was going to break as i put it on full master and gain).
I tried going to a third store (as I realized I like 15" ) as I had seen they had the Peavey Max 115, they were closing and could not try it. Going back today.
One thing is sure:
A) Honestly when I opened this thread I did not know how much I was going to LOVE the sound of a 15" speaker and how now I feel I cant go on with anything smaller than that.
B) Independently of what amp I will get. Now I love that Am Jaguar Bass. If no one buys it first, it will be mine.Hahaha![]()
Wow, thanks very much for the quick response!Yes all models (40, 100, 200, 500) are the same. 1M ohm.
(and 10k ohm for the aux input).
Our drummer is sealed off in a little plexiglas house.
Shouldn't they all be?
Well how did the Rumble 40 work out for you?Just to add my two cents. I recently tried both amps and found the Fender easier and faster to dial in my sound with the EQ at 12 and the Bright button pushed in. The Ampeg I had to fiddle with the EQ and still couldn’t get it to sound as good as the Fender. However, after I settled on the Rumble 40 V3 I tried the Rumble 100 V3. Wow, what a difference the 12 inch speaker made. The amp had more warmth and punch then the the Rumble 40’s 10 inch speaker. So I went with the Rumble 100. However, I bought the amp to play in my bedroom and my family found it to loud for my 14x14 feet room. I just sold it and I am going to get the Rumble 40.
It was great but I missed the fx send/return of the rumble 100. Since I’m still a beginner I didn’t really know what to use it for since I didn’t use any pedals except for a TC Electronic SpectraComp but I like to run that through the front. Anyway, I bought an Ampeg SCR DI Bass Pre Amp to go along with the Rumble 40 b/c I love the Ampeg sound but quickly realized that I needed the FX send/return for the preamp to work. I tried to run it in the front but it didn’t work at all. So if I wanted to use the Ampeg Pre Amp I had to buy another Rumble 100 but that would total $484 or I could buy an Ampeg Micro CL mini stack with a separate head and cab for $438 so I went with the Micro CL. Also, I never did like the dirty channel on the Fender. It’s not bad but I couldn’t get the sound I had in my head. Also the Micro CL does not have a dirty channel so I bought a Sansamp Bass Driver DI MK1. So now with the Micro CL/compressor and Sansamp my rig now sounds exactly like the sound in my head. Slight downside is that it is 100 watts but sounds good at bedroom volume. So I’m totally happy now.Well how did the Rumble 40 work out for you?
