Ampeg BA115 v2 extension cab options

First off, am I missing something or do all the Ampeg 15 extension cabs cost more than my entire combo amp itself?

What are some recommendations for this particular combo, just thought it would be fun to add another cab, ideas?

The BA115v2 does not have an output jack for an extension cab. The BA210v2 does. I have had a 210v2 for several years used with an additional external Ampeg cab and I am extremely pleased with it. 3 weeks ago, I purchased a 115v2 to use at our practice location in order to avoid lugging my 210 setup back and forth. And my thinking was also that with a similar combo I should be able to duplicate my amp settings and approximate the same sound at the practice venue. They may look virtually the same but the 210 (450W vs 150W for the 115) is really a whole level up and in my opinion, vastly superior to any of the other BA combo models. I am finding that in fact, quite apart from the speaker size difference, the amplifier component itself also has different tone characteristics. Not necessarily negative differences, just not the same. I vastly prefer the 210 but a big part of the reason is due to the fact that (in my opinion) the tone of the 210 with external cabinet is considerably better than the tone without the external cabinet. Again, this is not an option with the 115. When we play live, I am now starting to use the 115 as a 3rd cab/monitor by using the line out from the 210 patched to the line in of the 115. The 115 is a good practice amp but I would highly recommend anyone considering the 115 to save a little longer and fork out the extra $ for a 210. In my opinion, the advantage of 450W with ability to add the external cab is a really big deal. That's my two cents worth. Happy New Year!

I had the 75w BA112 and the only turn off was the lack of extension capability. She went to craigslist...

Moved on to the BA210v2, and I got the PF-210he cab...

Then since it was a flip top I had to get the pf-50t head...

Then I had to get the pf-410hlf cab...

now for some reason I also have two of the vr210av cabs...

I'm glad I could help.

Well, I just realized what I did lol.........I was looking at a brand new 210, and a used like new 115.............I know I looked at the back of one to see the extension port, then I think I assumed they both had it, or thought I saw it on the 115.

Either way it’s fine because I just needed a new practice amp with the option for tiny show or jam if needed, it’s got the DI and it’s plenty loud for practice, sounds pretty good, later next year I want a head and a 4x10 so this combo will do me great for now, only paid 175, happy so far in the house.
