Ampeg Cab problems?

Hi y'all, my Ampeg PR-410HLF cab that I've had for 5 years has been acting up on me, at first I thought it might be my Eden head but I took that in to get it checked out and there was nothing wrong with it (though I've had a dirty pot as well as tubes changed before). It seems the cab can't handle the same amount of low end it used to, now whenever I turn up the bass eq it farts out and sounds like the horn of a semi truck (which it never used to do this), I can barely turn up the master volume without this happening.

I don't know too much about these things. Could it have anything to do with a bad speaker cable or power cable? The power cable is pretty old and beat up and the speaker cable is very cheap (though short).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
