Ampeg Early 70's Grill Cloth

I'm finally finishing up a '73 SVT 8x10 cab that I've had for over 10 years. Guy that I got it from had covered it in rat fur, cut out (poorly) a 6x4 inch section on the back and replaced the jack with a multiple jack plate. He also changed the grill cloth to a basic black. I've got the cab sanded and the jack cutout filled in and ready to re-tolex. I go to order the correct blue grill cloth and discovered that it's not available at Fliptops any more. So I'm wondering if any of you guys got any idea where I can find any. I'd be happy with used too. I'd really love to use the correct stuff. :(

As a follow up, I asked a similar question in March and @beans-on-toast replied that all supply seems to have dried up in the US.

I called Ampeg parts today (as I just havent’t taken the time until now) and talked to Doug (I don’t know him, but that was the name he gave) and he looked for the part, and same issue; no stock.

@JimmyM did Dino ever get back to you on this question?

Yes he did. LOUD sold Ampeg to Yamaha and LOUD quit ordering it once they decided to sell. Dino's going to Yamaha, too, but everything's in transition right now so it might take a little time to get back up to speed.

New member here bringing (what I think) is good news for many of you:

I, too, have been scouring the web trying to find the coveted "70s"-style discontinued Blue/Silver cloth -- NOT the Black/Silver that I've been seeing (like this one Invalid Link Removed) -- and finally stumbled upon this:

The image on their site is the only one I've been able to find (so far) that looks remotely close to the original pattern, so I took a chance and ordered one 90x90cm piece. It just came in and it looks pretty good! Just need to wrap it around my frame and install it.

Here's what it looks like, right out of the package:

Get it while it's hot, and still in stock! But save some for me in case I mess up the install and need to order more ;)

Not sure if any of these will be close enough or work:

Portaflex style? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I still have some from Fliptops I bought years ago, but only enough for my v4 cab... But I chose to stick with the factory stuff once I was able to clean it up. Now I need some for my v4b and a new SVT blueline project that I will be posting about soon.

Unfortunately, all but the Vintage Sound one is the Black/Silver old style Portaflex cloth. The Vintage Sound one redirects to MojoTine, which is out of stock.

The one suggestion from above from TubeTown.net is the right one, but it’s in Germany, so VAT and shipping to US makes it overly expensive (edit: “I think... question below” :) )

Still awaiting Yamaha to hopefully release it as a replacement part.

@greengoblin, how did you go about cleaning your v4 cloth?

My v4 cab’s cloth is very nicotine stained and I tried dish soap and water up through spray on carpet cleaner, and it didn’t do anything (see below compared the other cabs and V4b sitting on top of it).
