Ampeg & Hartke: How Do Their Tones Compare?

  1. I'm doing my occasional rig change, which now involves a NEW AMP!

    Looking for that AMPEG sound again. I thought I hit the jackpot and got used to my Gallien-Krueger MB212-II. However, I began playing on Broadway and have gotten used to the Ampeg sound, and I think that's what would be best for me. Please let me know your thoughts about these amps!

    I can't speak to the sound of them all, but the Mesa will be the easiest to carry of the 3 you list.

    And likely the most reliable.

    If you want the Ampeg sound there is only one amp that you list that will do that.
