Ampeg + Mesa

Hi, I'm currently selling my old amp and I want to replace it by the following combination:

-Ampeg SVT IV PRO Head
-Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 2x15 Cabinet

Does anybody have more advice or info about this combination? The Ampeg IV PRO I tested at a store and it sounded wonderfull. The Mesa Boogie 2x15, I only heard great comments about it but never saw one in real life. Is there anybody on this forum who can help me out a little bit?

Thanks!!!!

I used the STV-4 with an older style Diesel 2x15 one show. Man, that was fun.

If you like the 2x15 sound (these newer Powerhouse cabs are a bit darker than the old school super midrangey ones) you cant go wrong with Mesa cabs.

I use a different combination of the same brands. Ampeg V4BH on two Powerhouse cabs, 2x10, and 4x10. Absolutely divine. As stated above, you can't go wrong with the Mesa cabs. I'll also add, they're much tighter sounding, and punchy as hell, beyond anything I've ever heard, ever. Though I've been through a ton of gear over the years, these Powerhouse cabs will be with me forever.

I'm using a Mesa 750 head on a Powerhouse 1x15 (the EV equipped 400W version). The cab sounds incredibly full range and punchy. You might consider going with a 1x15 and 2x10 powerhouse combo to add a little flexiblity to the sound and the rig in general. They are great cabs. BTW, it takes a while to break them in.

+1 The powerhouses are much darker than the older deisels. I played the powerhouse and it felt like it needed a 2x10 or 4x10 on top. I like the Eden 2x15 better for a single cab.
