Ampeg Micro VR w/ different cabs?

Yeah. 200 watts isn't going to cut the mustard in a metal band mix.

Go with what Jimmy said and get the PF350 for the same price or chuck in the extra 100 bucks and get the PF500. Plenty of power and tonal options for just about anything.

The PF350 and MicroVR are said to have the same preamp. The PF500 has a different preamp, more like the SVT 7PRO.

If I were playing metal, especially if you are using a 5'er or downtuning, look at the PF500.

If you have the need to run a 2x15 AND an 810 together you will be in a situation where someone else is being paid to move your gear. :D

thanks a lot, I have time to think this trough and I am saving for PF500. it seems like the best way to go for me :bassist:

Here is a video of it in action,

sounds awesome. I play mine with the Ampeg 610HLF.

Sorry to bump an old thread.. I came across this vid today from a craigslist ad for a Micro VR. Is it me or in the vid can you see two other heads behind the 810? Is he really using the Micro VR to power his rig or is it a show piece?

I have a Micro VR and love it through (2) GS112 cabs.. Just wondered on the video.

I've heard that he put the Micro VR up there for fun and had a couple real SVT's behind the cab. However, having done a Micro VR through an 810 on a gig before, it's still pretty darn good.
