Ampeg or Roland

Hi there,

I need your advice. Last week I bought an Ampeg BA115T, I use this amp for practices in my room, but I found that the hiss is driving me nuts, I thinking send this baby back to the store and get another one. I am thinking get the Roland Cube 100. What you suggest? Maybe is better just disconnect the stupid tweeter on my ampeg. Any other suggestion.

I really appreciate since I just started to play bass and have not experience on this.

It could be the bass picking up signal from anything else, radio, lights, etc...
What kind of bass do you have? Try playing with both pickups turned all the way up if its a fender jazz bass. Try moving around while you play and see if the hiss changes.

Also, try turning down the tweeter in the back, moving the amp a few feet over, and maybe its the cable. Also, if you are suing effects, they can be very noisy.

I own an Ampeg BA115T and use it for practice in a Blues trio. Playing with Guitar and Drums I can't hear the hiss from the tweeter but alone it does hiss. All you can do is EQ it out as best you can. This amp has no tweeder pad. It's a ballsy little amp and I love it !

I do not know , I would like to say that you you should go and get the BA115HTP, it can give you 220 watts instead of the 100 watts that the 115T has to offer.

I am using a compressor electric-harmonix and it give me a pretty nice gain in volume, but I still do not feel confident to use it for a performance, in this case I could say: more is better.
