Ampeg PF-115lf X2????

You will get not only a 3 db boost with the second cab as well as increased warmth in the low mids and an overall more pleasing sound, but you will get about 200 extra watts to work with, which will give you a slight bump in the volume and increased headroom. There's a lot to be said for a single small cab that thumps, but whenever you can double it, I consider it a good thing to do, since bigger is always better on bass. Have not done it with the PF115lf, but I used to have two PF115he's and it was great with one but doubly great with both.
If you like one, you'll love two. It'll be a significant increase in volume, low end, and overall bass-y goodness.
This is incorrect. Speakers all move at the same speed if they are producing the same note.
Well that is strange on the ampeg site for the svt-400hlf it says and I quote; "The SVT-410HLF actually moves 10% more air than two 18-inch speakers, and 25% more than three 15-inch speakers! And those leviathans simply cant respond to transient peaks as quickly as four tens can."
The 15 says "When only the fat, warm sound of a 15 speaker will get the job done"

Yep, but thats not an Ampeg thing, thats a marketing thing and all the big companies are guilty of the same type of stuff.
Notice they dont say which 18's or 15's? not all drivers are created equally.
Not sure if being a marketing thing is a good excuse to lie to the public, just to sell some gear

To be clear, this is not an ampeg problem. Every single big name amp/cab manufacturer (and for that matter every marketing department that sells any product) uses marketing fluff. GK, Genz, Hartke, markbass, Mesa, Fender... Their marketeers all spin the final copy.
Get over it.

As with anything, it pays to be educated before jumping into the hype. There are many old myths, as well as some outdated info that pops up in ad copy all the time. Bass cabs are among the worst. Trust the experts. Do your own research.
I think all the companies are guilty of the same offense. I think its hypocritical to apply an appalled attitude to one manufacturer, and not all of them.
