I talked to them on the phone earlier and they first said 1990 and then 2010. The guy was apologetic and said that they are in the midst of the Yamaha takeover ... so, who knows?

I know it couldn't be either of those dates... The PF heads came out in 2011.

I just acquired this PF 500 this morning. It doesn't look to bad on top of the SVT-410HLF. If you have any club membership numbers left, I'd like one please.

I've done an eye-glazing amount of research on small class D heads, and the PF-350 is at the top of the heap for me. My only concern is the very basic DI. For anything larger than a small-ish gig, I'm running through a PA, so a functional DI is necessary. Should I be concerned?

Nope. The DI on it is functional and fine and very low noise. Just had it plugged into what passes as my home studio tonight. It can put out a very hot signal once you start getting into the upper reaches of its available clean gain, but you should be able to deal with that if you're using halfway decent PA.

Is the 410HLF a decent cab to pair with the PF500? I’ve heard mixed reviews about them and was wondering what another good cab is for these?

I prefer the 410HE with the PF class-D amps, for they lack a bit of the dynamics of an old school transistor amp imho. With the 410hlf, which is voiced with a very low bottom end, the PF amps tend to sound a bit muddy, whereas the closed 410HE delivers more mid punch and keep the PF class D amps more sparkling.
All just my 2 cents of course.

I think you need to be precise which 410HLF were you referring to, cause it may refer to PN-410HLF, SVT-410HLF or PF-410HLF.

Yeah I didn’t realize there were so many. I was talking about the PF410’s but didn’t realize there was more than one model for the flip top style. I just want a good 4x10 that can handle the PF500.

Yeah, I thought you were referring to the Portaflex PF-410HLF. But then you got answers from @Hnz which were explaining the other 410HLF (IIRC, the SVT one).

None of them are flip top. But of course, you can use any of them with the PF head.

Oh so the PF’s that they sell now aren’t flip top, just the original ones were?

Either way, yeah I’m just looking for a good ampeg cab to go with the PF500 head.
