AMPEG PF-800 VS EDEN WTX500

HELLO FORUM!!! A QUICK WORD. I HAVE AN APMEG PF800 AND IM TIRED OF IT. I DIDNT GET THE SOUND that I expected. and I had an offer about trading it for an eden wtx500 and I would like to heart some opinions about it.... I would like to have more ''marcus miller'' sound. for example the sound of slap at the ampeg was not to good. mark bass though.....Oh man! wonderful. so..my no2 qusiteion is ;;will eden give me the sound Im looking for???'' thanks alot guys

Got to say that Eden does excel at Marcus Miller tone. You can get it out of the PF800 if you rock the ultra-hi and find the right mid frequency to cut. But it's not all about the head...what cab are you using?

Well, that's a good question.
One can't argue about taste.
What I personally found out lately is that your choice of cab can matter a lot.
I've a/b 'ed the head with my Portaflex cabs, a FAD cab and Session cab.
The differences are staggering, IMO.
I don't know the Eden, but I do like my PF800, and with different cabs in different ways...

right... i gorgot to mention my cabs. I have a 115 ampeg and a 410 bahringer with bugera speakers. I mostly use the 410 becouse of the head room. I sometimes use them both but I have to leave town if I do so.. I also heard that the eden has same isues about poping when muting.but I aslo think, as jimmy said, that hte eden would be closer to my taste of bass sound . what do you think? should I give it a try?

Ditch both cabs and get one good 410 with a tweeter. Better to buy a beater good cab used than buy Behringer trying to save money, no offense intended. Which Ampeg 115 do you have? They have a few. The PF115he might do a decent Marcus thing, but I don't think the other ones have tweeters.

no my behringer has one. and its also with aluminium cones so it has a little more brither sound that the paper ones.. the bugera speakers are not so bad but I agree with you. I sould buy a good cab too... as for the eden...what is your opinion?

its a horn. I dont know if its the same as a twitter. I think that its not the same... I supose

Ya, that's a tweeter. Some call it a horn as sort of a slang, but woofers and midrange speakers can also be horns so I think it's best to stick with tweeter.

I would keep the Ampeg and save up for a SVT410HLF.
