Waiting for my delivery of my second PF115HE and will have the same setup as you. I'm glad to hear you are happy with that setup. How are you connecting the cabs?
This is very helpful info. I like the idea of having the slightly different voicing although I love my 350. I was waiting for the PF800 to come out but after thinking about it, I really don't need that much wattage. The headroom on the 500 is plenty for what I do.

I had the VT Deluxe pedal before I got the PF500. So I am essentially keeping the VT for its tone, and it sounds great plugged straight into the PF500 with everything set at noon. The VT has a greater variety of tones, as well as presets. I also use some compression on the PF500. When I use the PF500 alone, I find that I need to dial up the treble significantly in order to get the brightness I want.
PF500's 1/4" out to cab 1, parallel from cab 1 to cab 2. The jacks on Ampeg's cabs are wired in parallel, so you can daisy chain two PF115's for a 4ohm load.
I love that rig, great sound and plenty of low end. Don't think I've ever had trouble being heard.

I took delivery of my replacement 350 today. No time to try it out today. Tomorrow... Hoping for a good experience this time. Can't complain about Loud's CS anyway.
Pf350 is way loud @ 4ohms 210 & 115. Through just the 115 ancient Traynor PA sub it sounds best; still blazingly loud @ 250w. Crisp highs and that driver can take it all the way to clipping without a complaint. 210 peavey headliner just doesn't have the highs or lows of the Traynor but will work fine for rehearsal in the small room were in. Love my new, warranty replacement, Ampeg! (But my v4b still kiks its arse)
Well of course it does! Does darn good for a micro, though. Glad you got sorted with it...if it's like mine, it'll be a tank for you. Even dropped mine a couple times and it still works every time after over a year and a half.
Just scored a PF-115he from a guy that got it for his bday, wanted to learn to play bass. He played for an hour and bass hurt his hand so he gave up. Lives in a high rise so he could never crank it one hour very light use. $275.00, momma!

Second pf500 started cutting out Friday night. Fault light would come on, the entire amp would shut off then turn on etc. It only did this for about 5 min, then started working and I used it for about a 4 hour practice without any problems. Probably still going to take it in, might as well since its under warranty.
I finally tried out an Ampeg PF500 today...Very nice sounding.
Definately the tone my ears and brain likes..very similar to the BA115 Combo I sed to love..but louder...Very easy to dial in the sound I need and desire...
Should I take the small plunge and keep my MarkBass LMIII to A/B and switch off when needed?
Looking that way. May have to order one of these in a couple of weeks.

My current rig is cool:
Ampeg BT-15 > Mosvalve MV-962 power amp (for sale) > modded-to-hell 2x15
But while I really like the sound I get from it, it's 1) heavy as hell and 2) I don't like relying on electronics, even solid state ones, from 1967.
I play with a more "gritty" tone (not fuzz, I have a pedal for that) - usually done by cranking up the BT-15 (being used as a pre) and letting the Mosvale control the overall volume. Does anyone have any EQ suggestions to give me a starting point? My only amps are my B-15 and my BT-15, so that whole "mid" knob is new to me.

I usually put my mid control on 1:00 to match my favorite B-15 sound. But the mid control is no big deal...boosts and cuts mids with 500hz as the center. Turn it till it sounds good to you.
Thank you Jimmy. I played with a PF500 before, but they aren't voiced the same. The "grit" from pushing the gain hard didn't quite sound like my current setup, but different head/cab and environment. Worst case, I have a pretty cool pedal (compressor/fuzz combo pedal) that can help with that.
