Ampeg......pfft!

I had a gig on a medium to larger stage. The backline was supplied and was playing through an Ampeg SVT-III (older version) with 2 x 410 Pro cabs. All night the rig was breaking up peaking out, and all the settings were set fine. The amp's peak LED only came on when I really dug in.

In my whole bass playing life (13 years) I have never found a good Ampeg amp or cab. My GK 1001RB ***** all over Ampeg in tone and performance.

Has anyone had this problem and/or felt like this? IMHO, I think Ampegs are one of the worst amps around!

I have never played through a Made In Vietman Ampeg amp. I have been gigging my Made In China SVT-3 for about six months and it has not let me down. I run it into a M.I.A. Ampeg 1/15 Classic cab. and it sounds great in the Blues band I have been playing with.
