Ampeg Portaflex with 210 or 115 cab?...suggestions?

I have a GK MB212 and want to upgrade to a solid and more traditional sound through the Portaflex head and amp combination. The traditional Ampeg sound came from a 15 from some of the information I've read, so I have two questions ultimately.

What cab has a fuller and deeper sound, or which one is what you would personally recommend. And I want to sell my MB212, GC said they would offer me a max of $300..what is the best spot to post this since I do not have the permission to post in classifieds yet? Thanks for all the help in advance.

The PF210he and PF115he sound a lot alike. The only difference I could pick up on is that the 210 sounds slightly higher tuned than the 115. Both cabs sound pretty full and deep. They go lower than the 810e, but not as low as the SVT 410hlf.

The new PF cabs I haven't played, but the PF410HLF and the PF115LF both go way lower than the first two PF cabs. They're closer to the SVT 410hlf if you go by their specs, but I've yet to play them so I couldn't tell you firsthand.

You lose alot of volume going from a 212 to a 210 or 115. Consider this as well.

Not "frequencies", but SPL, or volume, loudness, etc.

Not always. It's dependent on the speaker used, and the way the box is built. You can't tell anything about frequency response by speaker size alone.

I have the MB212, but I almost bought 2 of the MB115's. Stacked and in parallel input they sound really good - the 115 sounds great like it is, thumpy 15 sound, but a pair of them is more than twice as good. I got a chance to try it at the music store.. I got the MB212 simply because I didn't want to haul around two cabinets, a decision i am second guessing, since I prefer the sound of 15's.... I love the sound of the 212's don't get me wrong - it has a lot of tone and clarity, but lacks that punch that a pair of 15's seem to have...

Since this is also a matter of wattage and efficiency (MB212 is 500, 2 MB115's are 200W each = 400) but the GK 15" speaker seems to be more efficient and put out more sound per watt, I would say that it is a wash between the 2 configurations.

+1 to all the above but I wouldn’t sell the MB212 before you A/B it with the other rig/cabinets.

EDIT: azureblue - I drive two GK MB115s and I love them.

Is there a way to link it up to a different cab? I looked on the top and it looks to have a direct link
