I am pretty much in agreement with Jerrold's post. Most power "conditioners" offer no improvement in the AC supply. Most are just power strips in a pretty box. The ones I use offer line filtering which I have found helpful in ridding myself of some AC line noise.
Fast recovery rectifiers can offer improvement in the sound of an amplifier but only if the rest of the power supply is designed to suit them. Most people, including me, would probably hear no difference.
A soft start circuit can be a simple as a metal oxide varistor at a cost of less than a buck. Why manufacturers of high power amps don't add soft start as standard seems a little odd to me. That being said, I have never tripped a breaker switching on any of my power amps and they range from 400W to 1500W.
