Ampeg questions!!!

b100r is the next best thing to a b-15 if you want a single small combo package. but it's only 100w so probably not enough. b200r is pretty great, but i heard of a lot of people having rattle problems. plus they're discontinued. i think if you could get a used b200r that doesn't rattle, though, it would be better than the ba300.

JimmyM, as always I bow down to your knowledge of all things Ampeg ('cause you are the man). But I'm telling you--and maybe I just got a good one--the B-100R works well with a band in a small to medium club setting--never had any complaints nor used PA support.

Then again... (check my sig)

I found a b2re at a great price, what are you thinking of it?

when i drove the the store to try the ba300/115 that wasn't turning on. They had a svt 450H with an ampeg 4x10, i tried it and i liked it, but i prefer the sound a 15'' cab.

If i wait 2-3 months i'll be able to put enough money aside to buy a bigger ampeg rig, but for once in my life, i'll try to buy with my needs in mind...

I wanted to buy something new so that's why i was looking at a ba300/115, it has a 15'' driver, enought wattage to play with a band, it is affordable and it has the famous ampeg tone...

What i'm looking for is the famous ampeg tone so i'm not looking for other amp brand.

I liked the ba115 because it has 5 different setting and the one prefered where vintage #1 and flat #3.

I'm seriously considering the ba300/115. I was just hoping it was sounding like the ba115 with more power...(thanks JimmyM for this answer)

The cool part is the weight. The Ba300 is 60lbs vs the ba115hp which is 80lbs... I can deal with 60lbs easily.

My only concern is reliability, it's seems that ampeg quality has gone down, any comment about this???

I've had my BA115SP since '99. I just picked up the SVT-15 cab. As far as quality goes I couldn't be happier. My BA115 from the 90's and my brand new "assembled in America" cab are, in my opinion, of the same quality. I had concernes about buying a new ampeg, seeing that Loud Technologies is now using overseas parts in their gear. Let me tell you man, I love the cab. Has that great ampeg tone and will make your teeth rattle. Go for it. You won't be sorry. I think the BA300 would be great for you. It will work for small-medium gigs, and if you need help(and the sounds man's not a total goof) it'll do the job most anywhere. Cheers

thanks for all your comments guys i really appreciate it.

Today i called LOUD to ask questions about some specs and comparison between some models.

I called 3 times, the receptionist was nice and king, she put me on hold each time. NOBODY answered the phone.

I even waited 17 minutes to make sure i'll take to someone. The last time i called i explain the situation and they put me on hold again

What a deception!!! I'm working for a bike company and i'm answering telephone and emails for hours everyday... I can't believe that such a company didn't want a answer a phone call from a future customer...
