Ampeg Rocks! Thanks Hodgy!!!

Just want to share the experience I had with Hodgy at Ampeg this morning. I bought a Heritage 410hlf that was having some problems with farting out on the low notes at increased volume.

I posted the problems I was experiencing here on TB and Hodgy saw the post. He commented to be sure and send it back so he could fix it. After finding out I live close to Woodinville, Hodgy quickly responded saying he would be glad to have me bring it directly to him in Woodinville!

I arranged to do so this morning. Hodgy was very gracious by giving me a tour of the warehouse where the magic of assembling the new US Heritage line. Of course, Hodgy is the magic of assembling the new US Heritage line! (If you have not checked out the YouTube video with him and Dino, do so). Building a Heritage - Ampeg Heritage SVT Series - YouTube. He then proceeded to test my HLF with the various instruments to detect any problems that may be occurring. This included diagnostic computers coupled with graphs and sound.

However, the real test occurred after Hodgy was finished when he connected the HLF 410 to an amp, plugged in his bass and cranked it up! Ahh, that Ampeg tone. Music to my ears!! :bassist:

I must say that it was refreshing to know that a real bass player is making these amps and playing them to be sure they are working properly before they are sent out. My experience with Hodgy at Ampeg was awesome! They are lucky to have him!

I just got my heritage 410 last week and took it to one of the places I practice at. Awesome cab and easy to move and handle. I've only used it once (matched it with a friends svt200) and I can't crank it in my room with my acoustic 370. Real test is a gig in a couple of weeks. I liked what I heard so far, lots of low end definition and not a modern sounding cab at all, at least not how I dialed my sound.

Thanks Phil! It was great meeting you and I'm happy that I could help.
Way back when, only the baddest of the baddest players were called MFers. (Where do you think Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention got their name?). It's a term of high praise. Of course majortoby was probably talking about Larry "ManuFacturing" Hartke, right?

Hodgy is the best! I want Hodgy to have his own photo shoot with Sandrine Lee and be featured in their advertising. Everyone would buy an Ampeg if Hodgy's picture was on the box!
