Just got this in the mail a few days ago. The guy I bought it from said everything worked fine...however, the Master Volume knob doesn't work. At all.

What could some of the reasons for this be, and how hard is it to fix? I intend on taking it in to get fixed, but I was just wondering. The tubes and everything is fine, but the only way I can increase volume is by turning the gain up. Which, results in a lot of distortion. So I obviously need the master volume knob... :D

If you are permanently set to max master, it sounds like the master just has a broken solder joint.

Very easy fix if the above is true.

This is assuming the previous owner didn't modify it somehow. Different people have different ideas of "working right"........

If it was shipped UPS and/or NOT in the original packing, it could have happened in shipment.

UPS is rough on things. REALLY rough. (My cousin once got fired by them for not throwing the packages!).
