I'll take the tone, power, and reliability of my 2 Pro over the 7 Pro all day long. Except I can't move the 2 Pro around much like in yester-year, too darn heavy.
While playing loud on my 7 Pro (@4ohms into a 1x15" cab) it blowup & took the cab along with it (7 pro in shop for repairs now). So, I wiped off the dust & cobwebs of my 2 Pro & hooked it up to a 2x15" JBL pa cab @4ohms (I don't have a backup bass cab right now). Well, the 2 Pro still rocks after all the years (USA made circa 1990s). Did I say tone for days? Yep, tone & weight for days
My lower back just went out from moving the 2 Pro to the top of the 2x15" pa cab. Ouch!
If the weight of a bass amp is an issue, the 7 Pro wins. If not, go for an Ampeg all tube 300 watt SVT bass head. All of the Ampeg SVT 300 watt all tube amps are possibly the greatest bass amps ever built.
Can anyone recommend an orthopedic surgeon, no fooling
