Hey guys this is my first post and i literally just joined the site. Yesterday I traded in my Yorkville Bassmaster 400 head in and purchased a Ampeg SVT-6 pro at my local guitar center for a mind blowing $466 bucks before trade in! I don't know anything at all about this head but I do know what its worth so i made a mad dash and bought it. Now this is my very first experience with ampeg and I never really looked into them much until i just purchased this one seeing as how there so expensive I never even dreamt of owning one myself. I understand that this thing has a parametric equalizer but I currently don't have my bass cabs with me, and wont for about a week so i haven't really gotten to play around with its sound. I play a lot of punk, metal, ska, and disco and use a pick most times with alot of fast straight forward attack and speed. Im looking for a punchy fat sound with alot of attack and pick tone like most punk players. Im playing a 1997 Warwick Streamer PRO-m with a dual j pick up configuration also known as there musicman electronics set up. If anyone could give me any tips on setting this amp up for the sound im looking for i would greatly appreciate it along with any little tips on the amp its self. Mind you I have never owned a tube head and don't really have much exposure to things like this but am excited to take on the challenge and am open to any tips you guys might have. Oh and before i forget this, I play though a Peavey TVX 2x10 cab and a Peavey 1x15 Blackwiddow. Thanks again for taking the time to read this and help me out.
