Ampeg SVT-6 Pro or SVT-7 Pro?

It really depends on what kind of sound you are going for. I like the sound of a tube head so I use a 6 pro.
...
Power Amp: Mosfet

Actually power amp: tube / mosfet hybrid.

Both the 3PRO and 6PRO power amps have tubes for all the gain, with the mosfets acting almost like an output transformer... no gain, just "impedance matching" between the tube plates and the speaker.

The 7 Pro has one pre-amp tube and to me, it has more of a solid state sound.
I didn't used to feel this way, but every time I plug into a 4 Pro (never tried the 6 Pro), I start to feel more and more in agreement. There's something about the 7 Pro and other Ampeg micros that very much reminds me of a tube amp being pushed just a little bit hard, but that 4 Pro is a cannon.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback. Just sent a message to the seller, we'll se what happens. :)

As for the PF-500, yes, it does the job fine without any failure, so I'm maybe a happy camper.
I'm just looking for some power as I'm planning on building my second Fearful cab. :)

Seems like goergestrings has too many issues. Very unproductive posts from him.
Have toured the SVT7 around the world for 4 years with no problems. Only changed out the 12ax7 for one that gave the amp a better feel.
JJ's are over rated. Not the blanket fix some seem to think.

I had the SVT 3 PRO and it did nothing for me. And I blew two of the speakers in the 100+ pound 4x10 HLF Cabinet which I hated also. Was so glad to finally sell them both.

If I was gigging, I'd probably get a MESA rig. OR maybe a Mark Bass. Have not heard either, just good things about both.
Happy with my Rumbles (200C, 100C and Studio 40) for around the house. Peace
