Ampeg svt 810 heritage speaker replacement

yea it´s for a 410 8ohms.

but is my 810 4ohms not basially 2 x 410 8Ohm.

so i thought i could buy that pre-wired backplate with HPF and L-Pad and connect
the upper 4x10 to it.

Just sell the Heritage and buy a second 410he. Don't butcher it with a tweeter.

Here's a post from 2016 that indicates otherwise:

2023-2019=4. Feb 2019, so 4 years and 1 month.
Whether they were in stock or not in 2016 is no indication of whether or not they were in February of 2019.

Tweeter will just add 'click-i-ness' in my experience. I rarely have em on.

You are right about the tweeter i don´t need the tweeter in particular.
the 410HE w. horn off is tuned brighter and the 115 has a lot of clickiness ....
so basically the horn would be too high frequencies anyways.
what i´m missing is 1-5k rather than 5-10 i guess.

But the Bass and Low mid Thumb / Tightness of the 810 Heritage
blews my mind. I´m having a hard time sending it back because of that.

You don't want to sink 25% of your power into that dummy load.

8ohm + 4ohm in parallel is 2.667 ohms. It's not a match for the 2 ohm tap, but IMO it falls into safe mismatch territory and you can ditch the dummy load.

I'm curious how the 810+115 works. If my understanding of physics is correct 2/3rds of the power will go into the 810 and only 1/3rd of the power into 115, considering the box with over double the speaker surface area is also getting double the power there may be a massive volume imbalance.

With your other method, 50% of the power will go into the 810, 25% into the 115 and 25% into the dummy load. The dummy load doesn't fix the power imbalance, the 810 will still be substantially louder.

(someone who actually knows physics may want to check my math)

one thing i can say for sure.

although the tech-sheet says hertitage 810 has 100db sensitivity its quieter
than all the other speakers i am currently testing. ( 410he 115e and the pn1-15 hlf) .

will try 1-15 + 810 on 2 ohms and report.

funny thing is the 1-15 although it should have way more lowend it´s actually
pretty bright. but not as direct.

generally speaking, has the SVT CL any drawbacks in 2ohms mode compared to
4 ohms?!

Are you sure there no damage or internal miswiring of your 810?

upper half works fine allone. and if i plug in the single connector. all 8 are engaged.

i bought it new from the dealer so i guess everythings allright.
