Looking to see if anyone has been using Ampeg SVT Suite, and their overall impressions of the software. I downloaded the trial version, and after trying it out a few days pulled the trigger on the total package (before I got wind of the 50% off survey savings
).
Note this is my first foray into specialized bass recording software ... in times past I'd rely on a somewhat complex effects signal chain to the interface to achieve the tone I was looking for.
Understand from other posts I've seen that the Suite is relatively expensive and many other earlier offerings pretty much cover similar ground. From my user perspective, it has a great deal of flexibility and features, and the many head/cab/mic configurations offer very pleasing range of characteristics and tonal possibility. I will say that SVT Suite makes a great demand on the CPU, so for me, working with a relatively normal laptop, it helps a lot to render bass tracks processed thru the app to audio in order to free up processing power.
