The VR has two preamps though which can be eqed differently and the single power amp make it so I can run it out to one cab.The lack of a separate power amp make it as not-a-good-use-of-a-pair-of-cables as putting ROS into an ABY pedal and then single-cabling into absolutely any other single amp.
ROS is useful for when you have two amps and is a total waste when you don’t.
I know. The VR has two preamps though which can be eqed differently and the single power amp make it so I can run it out to one cab.
Thinking of an SVT-VR for ROS. Do both channels output at the same time. Does the lack of a master volume make it not a good choice for ROS?
That’s basically what I was afraid of. I’m pocking up a V4B and 212av today and if it doesn’t give me what I’m looking for I’ll probably add a little guitar combo for the bridge pickup and use the V4B for the neck. Now I just need to sell my super bassman rig. It's not really ROS IMHO but yes it works fine.
Some people like jumping the channels with mono output basses.
Both channels output at the same time and it's no problem balancing the signals too taste.
The VR preamp is not really designed to be pushed into drive territory, so a master is not really useful. If you want drive on one channel use your favorite pedal.

Get a spitter box that takes two inputs, and sends one output. The only difference between this option, and running from a single cable, is the lack of phasing between pickups at the bass. I can't tell you how the two signals react together after the bass, I don't have a ric.Thinking of an SVT-VR for ROS. Do both channels output at the same time. Get a TRS-mono cable, TRS in the Ric’O’Sound jack, the 2 TS cables go into the separate channels/signals. One pickup is tip and the other is ring.Thinking of an SVT-VR for ROS. Do both channels output at the same time. Does the lack of a master volume make it not a good choice for ROS?
with two amps, one of them with the bass & low mids and seriously cut hard and taking effects sounds freaking great live whether you’re in a trio or a large ensemble with multiple synths, guits, and horns… depending on how you implement it and what genre you’re working in.As I know it, ric o sound is really just for recording purposes.
