Ampeg V4B 1976 & 810 CTS Flatbacks in the house!

The very best bass guitar rig ever put together, amen, so be it, go in peace.
Ampeg V4B + 8x10 cab + Fender Precision.
Here I am in 1976. It was my rig. The amp is 1975.
Were in not for the weight and my advanced age, I would have another.
I envy your luck getting that rig. Enjoy.
Yeah I get you. The amp has been completely reviewed and serviced by a qualified professional and since I don't fiddle with amps on my own, I trust the experts opinion. AFAIK the electrolytes that needed replacement have been completely replaced and those who tested ok have been preserved. Anything above this is completely out of my expertise.

Edit: I also mainly use my jazz bass elite 5er and it sings like a dream too. It basically doesn't matter what you plug in it, it sounds phenomenal. Also, the cts 810 is the first tweeterless cab that completely satisfies my needs for the top end. These speakers really sing in the higher frequencies and can sound surprisingly modern, absolutely no need for a tweeter.
Yes, a great heritage. There are certain things the become part of the aura, like Stradivarius violins, Les Paul guitar, Precision bass, and the SVT. The V4B I consider in that club. I had an SVT, but found it too much for club gigs and moved to the V4B which I found perfect in every way.
That's the thing - the SVT is quite a bit of an overkill for most gigs. I dig its sound too though. I am 100% I will own one in the future even though it probably won't find much use.
But as you said, there is a certain aura around these amps and it makes my day just seeing this rig in my rehearsal place even though it will probably see 15 gigs per year or less. But, I can say that I have one

Oh yes, the roadies! The V4B is already a nice challenge to carry around but I cannot imagine hauling the svt-cl without a cart or something.
I'm 5' 7" and 160 lbs. I can't handle a rig that outweighs me. At 76, I don't have the strength to carry it around.
I got over it. I found one of the very first SVT's ever made in a store a few months later and snapped it up. And I have a newer V4B nowThanks Jimmy! I am sorry you lost this gem of a combination.

Now, don't take this wrong, but just showing up to the gig is usually enough to make guitarists feel inadequate!

IMHO, that's a dangerous sentiment to share if your guitarist is running a 100W tube amp and a half stack or more. They may assume you are talking volume instead of quality.
