Been a while since I hung around here, found this thread (maybe again? Dunno)
Anyway, while looking for something else, re-discovered my 95 Foundation that I had mostly forgotten I had, stashed in a gig bag, stuffed between blankets. Its been several years since its been played.
Took it out of the bag, checked the tuning, the E string was a bit flat, everything else dead on...plugged it into a Neve 1073 clone direct to Protools, and dang, what a fat sound - forgotten how many cojones this had. Next up, plugged it into a 66 B15, Roswell K47 into A Daking pre, LA2 compressor, re-tracked a song I've been working on (since 1993...) and in 2 takes, it was done. No further processing.
Anyhow been trying to get the real history - guitar sat 'crafted in US', but there are so many takes on what that really means...not the super ferrites, but some very large, presumably single coil pickups, Fender style tuners, cream poly paint, maple neck. Paid (I think) $300 15 yrs ago...
And...it immediately replaced a couple of Fenders in the 6 slot stand for grab on a moments notice for tracking stuff.
