Ampeg V4B: Would it keep up with Guitar's V4?

I'm strongly condidering a V4B to use with an NV215 cab. My one concern is the it won't keep up with the guitar player's V4 amp with Marshall 4x12 cab. His amp is actually some sort of sig amp that I can't remember, but it's basically 100watt ampeg tube amp.

Without house pa support, how will those work together. He plays loud to get that tube sound he needs for the guitar (I can understand.. I suppose) lol

If it's a signature ampeg 100 watt guitar head it's probably the Lee Jackson. The V4 should do fine, I've never had trouble keeping up with mine against a mesa triple rec/4x12, rivera 100 watt/mesa 4x12, etc, etc.

I vote no on that combination, but not solely because of the V4B. With two of those cabs, maybe. But not one. You'd be running on the hairy edge all the time. There's only so much two forward-facing fifteens can do. You have to move more air, in my opinion. A V4B will sing into four fifteens if the tubes are good and if the amp's biased right. I have the hearing loss to prove it.

Based on Your last paragraph, no, You won't be able to keep up with that amp/cab.

Like said previously, perhaps a pair of those would do, but if a modern low frequency heavy bass tone is what You're after, I doubt that even a 4*15" would do it.

Now if the guitarist would consider an attenuator of some sort or run through a 212, that might help but I have a feeling that at the end of the day You'd still be drowned with a same wattage on both amps.

I have used a V4B with a 2x15 cabinet with a single guitarist who didn't play that loud and it worked well
If you want clean headroom I wouldn't advise on that combo for 2 guitarists with potentialy loud amps

There is almost zero chance they will get that. I bought mine for $450 a few years ago, and I know they've gone up recently as they've become more popular and 7027s have become more available but that's still a ton. There was a guy on the boston CL selling a head with two matching cabs for that same price, no way a head would go for that unless the buyer was dumb as bricks.

I think it was Toronto CL,maybe that`s Canadian money
