Congrats on the score. I recently bought a V4B that looks almost exactly like yours (except mine wasn't missing any knows).

I was very surprised and pleased at how good a condition (cosmetically) it was when I got it. I absolutely love the sound of this amp. To my ears it has a sweetness and fullness that I really love. FWIW, I usually have the volume at about noon, bass around 2, treble 10 and midrange 12. I adjust the volume as needed on the bass, which for rehearsals runs about half or less and I never engage the ultra hi/lows switches.

I've ordered a matching 1x15 cabinet from Fliptops because I really wanted to capture the era. But from a sound point of view, it sounds just fine thru my Carvin 1503.

Well folks I've got my amp home from band practice and was wondering what information I can provide to get some details about this amp. Is there a serial # or some logo, etc. that can provide information about its age, etc.?

Thanks. Now that I look at the amp, I don't actually see a serial ##. It says The Ampeg Company, Linden, NJ.

Amazing! My serial # is nearly identical to yours! Mine has old GE 7027A's, short style. I've narrowed the production down to pre-Magnavox, '72 or earlier. Any other help with ID would be helpful to my curiosity.

All the paint from my front panel is gone, What color is the writing on your front panel? I'll be trying to replace it with the proper color. Fliptops seems to be the place.

I'm excited for you. The lights can be replaced, but I read (somewhere) that sometimes a faulty resistor will put you in a vicious circle with failing indicator lights.
